You cannot get anywhere great without a great team. This program is developed around the iLead Youth Values Program Developed by John Maxwell.
PLEASE NOTE: This value program has been funded by the John Maxwell Leadership Foundation. As a member of the John Maxwell Team, the material for this program is provided free and made available to as many youth as possible AT NO CHARGE. The curriculum is facilitated by a John Maxwell certified team member.
iLead was designed to provide students with an environment for leadership values to be introduced, practiced, and shared. John Maxwell has partnered with educational institutions around the world to produce this program and reverse the negative portrayal of leadership. This program offers a desirable portrait of leadership based on values that can be applicable to a student’s life — values that teenagers can admire, implement, and choose to aspire to for a more positive and sustained style of leadership.
The goal is for youth to facilitate the content among their friends and peers. Together, they can learn to appreciate the values of leadership while learning to value themselves and others.
PROGRAM GOALS
THIS PROGRAM HAS BEEN DESIGNED TO HELP STUDENTS ACCOMPLISH FIVE GOALS:
If you are an educator, youth group leader, school-aged provider, or other position offering youth services, please contact Dr. Lashley at tracie@drtracielashley.com for more information.
This program is comprised of 16 lessons spread out over four units with the goal of helping teenagers learn leadership values and teaching them how to apply them to their own lives from leadership expert John C. Maxwell.
These values are recognized by some of the largest and most successful companies in the world. iChoose was designed to provide students with an environment for leadership values to be introduced, practiced, and shared.
Because many of today’s teenagers equate leadership with position, abuse of power, bribery, and corruption, few young people have a healthy and correct understanding of what leadership is and how they can apply it to their lives and the lives of others. John C. Maxwell has partnered with educational institutions around the world to produce this program and reverse the negative portrayal of leadership. This program offers a desirable portrait of leadership based on values that can be applicable to a student’s life — values that teenagers can admire, implement, and choose to aspire to for a more positive and sustained style of leadership.

You must have a clear vision of what you want your future to look like. Your vision can include the following (ideas):
It is your BIG PICTURE...
Developing goals is one thing but making them S.M.A.R.T. is a MUST. The below are some great areas (but not a complete list) to include in youth action plans.
This will provide a visual road map. Time Allocation and proper planning are crucial elements to action planning.
By taking the mini-DISC assessment, you learned the careers that fit your personality. How will you decide on the right path for you? Is the direction where you thought? What changes must be made. Include career planing in your action plan and explain the steps required to reach your desire end.
This will show you how to fund and obtain the correct tools for your journey.
You need to believe in yourself and recruit others to do the same. Do you have someone, a mentor, who can advise you and keep you accountable? You must believe in yourself and your plan. Don’t give up – persevere!
YouthMAX is a youth leadership curriculum, designed to give today’s young people practical tools and ideas to help them navigate life in four key areas. The four key topics are Stand Up & Be Counted (Stop Bullying), Learning to Fail Forward to Success, Developing a Positive Self-Image and Developing Strong Personal Character.
When young people are challenged to grow and become leaders, they respond. YouthMAX provides both the challenge and guidance, showing how they can improve their lives and positively influence their peers.
Certified John Maxwell Team speakers will be providing leadership training for area youth by forming partnerships with local schools and youth organizations globally. The training is available to any youth organization or school group.
John Maxwell’s lesson Stand Up & Be Counted teaches three ways to deal with bullying in a positive, affirming way: Stand Up – Be confident in your own value, Lift Up – Use your influence to help others and Pick Up – Help others who are being bullied by picking them up.
John Maxwell’s lesson Learning to Fail Forward to Success teaches that failure is the foundation for all success and helps youth understand how to learn from failure, change and grow toward success.
John Maxwell’s lesson Developing a Positive Self-Image teaches both the value of confidence and practical ways to develop and maintain a positive self-image.
John Maxwell’s lesson Developing Strong Personal Character teaches how to choose positive daily decisions that will help youth align their actions with their values and learn to achieve lasting personal success.
